Margaret Ann Ruckman

Margaret A. Ruckman, 82, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Margaret was born Nov. 7, 1933, at Bronson, KS. She was the daughter of Roy L. and Mabel E. (Watson) Nichols. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1951. Margaret married Earl G. Ruckman July 5, 1952 in Bronson. They lived in Iola, KS until 1978 moving to Topeka, KS. Earl passed away February 28, 2009. Margaret moved back to Iola in 2014 to live with her daughter. While in Topeka she worked at Montgomery Wards. After retirement she worked seasonal for the Kansas Income Tax until her health failed. Margaret was a bowler for several years. She enjoyed playing cards at the Iola Senior Center and playing weekly Bingo. Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Paul) Scheibmeir, Iola; sons, Bernard (Sandy) Ruckman, Jacksonville, FL, Bob (Cyndi) Ruckman, LeRoy, KS, Gene Ruckman, Iola, KS. Sister, Thora Shinn, Uniontown, KS, brother Don (Brenda) Nichols, Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ruckman, son Dean Ruckman, daughter-in-law Margaret "Jamie" Ruckman and sister Reta Jones. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola, KS with visitation following the service. Inurnment will be at the Bronson Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to ACARF (Allen County Animal Rescue Facility) or Iola Senior Center and may be left with the funeral home.
