Marie E. Feuerborn

Marie E. Feuerborn, age 100, of Ottawa, Kansas, died on Monday, March 10, 2008, at Ottawa Retirement Village in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on January 27, 1908, in Sheldon, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Mueller) Trompeter. Marie grew up in the Peru, Illinois area, where she attended a business school. She was united in marriage to Ralph J. Feuerborn on December 2, 1933, in Peru, Illinois. This union was blessed with four children. The couple lived in Marseilles, Illinois until moving to Garnett, Kansas in 1947. Marie worked as a nurses aide at the Anderson County Hospital. She made her home in Garnett until moving to Ottawa, Kansas in 2000. Marie was a member of Holy Angels Church, Garnett, and then Sacred Heart Church after moving to Ottawa. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Unit at Glenloch and she was an avid quilter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Feuerborn, on December 31, 1986; her daughter Janet Hill in 1983; her son Raymond Feuerborn in 2002; her parents; four brothers; and three sisters. Marie is survived by two daughters; Faye Rubick of Ottawa, Kansas; and Jean Stover of Williamsburg, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends following a wake service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Garnett, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School or Holy Angels Building Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
