Marilyn Kay (Kincheloe) Manbeck, age 83, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Marilyn was born November 10, 1938, to Clair and Opal (Peterson) Kincheloe. She attended school in Iola, Kansas. She married Clyde Lee Manbeck on April 12, 1959, in Iola, Kansas at the former Trinity United Methodist Church where they were members. Their union was blessed with three daughters. Marilyn dedicated her life to being a homemaker and raising her children. She was not meant for a traditional job. She more than succeeded in providing for her family in ways that a traditional job never could. She sewed, cooked, and created many things for her children on top of being involved in every activity that she could be to support their hobbies and dreams. These selfless acts continued on past her children's childhoods too. She became the rock and pillar of strength for her children and grandchildren.
Marilyn was a person that never slowed down. You could always find her up to something, whether she was working in the yard, taking care of friends and neighbors, or out on the town, possibly driving her John Deere down to the local doctor's office. You could always find her with a book in her hand. It's rumored to be possible that she read the entire Iola Public Library before her family resorted to buying her a Kindle. Faith was very important to her and she relied heavily on her relationship with the Lord. Marilyn's church was the center of both her and her family's world.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Manbeck; parents, Clair and Opal Kincheloe; sisters, Jane Kincheloe Saferite and Barbara Kincheloe Rodgers; and brothers, Ronnie Kincheloe and Herschel Kincheloe.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Cyndy Greenhagen, Lisa Carter, and Carrie Sconza (Mike); grandchildren, Kim Griffin (Ryan), Kristin Pitt (Patrick), Andrew Carter (Stephanie), Levi Carter (Molly), Jack Sconza, Marilyn Jane Sconza, Justin Sconza (Hannah), Alex Sconza (Hailey), and Adam Greenhagen; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral to honor the life of Marilyn will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the former Trinity United Methodist Church in Iola, Kansas, now known as The Foundry. Family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in The Chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola, Kansas.
