Marion Lee Cushing, age 80, of Kincaid, Kansas, died on Monday, September 7, 2009, at his home. He was born on October 15, 1928, in Kincaid, Kansas, the son of Walter Lee Cushing and Fannie Mae (Riggs) Cushing. He grew up in the Kincaid area, graduating from Kincaid High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On September 1, 1956, he was united in marriage to Vincie Jo Wood at Westphalia, Kansas. Marion was a farmer and a retired rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of the Kincaid Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Peggy Lee Cushing; and his brother, Harold Cushing. Marion is survived by his wife Jo Cushing of the home; two daughters, Connie Edgerton and husband Allen of Garnett, Kansas; Diana Storrer and husband Jeff of Iola, Kansas; his sister Velma Wiseman of Clovis, New Mexico; six grandchildren; Zachary Edgerton and wife Stephanie, Sarah Edgerton, Jacob Edgerton, Matthew Storrer, Jacob Storrer, and Heather Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Brenton Edgerton, Kinley Edgerton, and Taylor Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Kincaid Cemetery in Kincaid, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the funeral home in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and left in care of the funeral home.
