Marita Scimeca DR

Dr. Marita Lenski Scimeca, M.D., 86, of Olathe, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County in Olathe. Dr. Scimeca was born December 28, 1924, in Gas, Kansas at St. John's Hospital the daughter of Dr. Frank X. and Mary L. (O'Grady) Lenski, Sr. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1947 and from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1951. Marita married Dr. Salvatore A. Scimeca D.D.S. in 1948. She practiced medicine in Iola, Kiowa and Atchison, Kansas. She moved to Olathe three years ago to make her home. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa, Kansas, and was involved in church activities throughout her life. SURVIVORS: 4 Sons: Salvatore A. (Tim) Scimeca of Wichita, KS, Vincent Scimeca of Arcadia, KS, Joseph B. Scimeca of Overland Park, KS, and Frank X. Scimeca of Kansas City, MO 1 Daughter: Karla M. Filo of Shawnee, KS 1 Sister: Leanna Reidy of Houston, TX 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank X. Lenski, Jr., M.D. and John J. Lenski, sister Marlene Lenski and infant sister, Frances Marie Lenski. ROSARY & MASS: The parish rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2011, at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola, Kansas, followed by the celebration of the mass at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Robert B. Wachter will be celebrant.
