Marjorie C. Ensminger, age 75, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on April 23, 1934 in McPherson County, Kansas, the daughter of Benjamin and Susie (Koehn) Woodward. She graduated from Bronson High School and from Pittsburg State University. Marjorie taught school at Moran and LaHarpe schools until 1968, then devoted herself to her family. Marjorie married Jack Ensminger on December 25, 1960 at the Methodist Church at Bronson, Kansas. This union was blessed with two children. She was a board member of the Allen County Historical Society; she was involved in the Kansas Republican Party and the Chairman of the Allen County Republican Party; President of the Allen County Republican Women; she was first Vice President of the KFRW; she was a National Regent of NFRW; a delegate multiple times to the Republican National Convention. Marjorie spent many years on the Kansas Farm Bureau State Resolution Committee; the State Membership Committee; the State Vote FBF Board; Allen County Women's Chair; Allen County Policy Chair; and Allen County Membership Chair. She was devoted to her church; in her younger years taught many Sunday School classes; was Sunday School Superintendent and Session Member. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; Benjamin and Susie Woodward; and one sister, Lorene Hoobler. She is survived by her husband, Jack Ensminger of the home; one son, Brad Ensminger of Moran, Kansas; one daughter, Jacque Ensminger of Iola, Kansas; five brothers, Myron Woodward and wife Margie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Richard Woodward and wife Barbara of Bronson, Kansas; Vernon Woodward of Bronson, Kansas; Luther Woodward and wife Hazel of Burke, Virginia; and Glenn Woodward of Topeka, Kansas; four grandchildren, Wesley McFadden; Luke McFadden; Lisa McFadden; and Mark McFadden, all of Iola, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church at Iola, Kansas, interment to follow at the Moran Cemetery in Moran, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends on Friday evening, November 13, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Moran from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Iola, Kansas.
