Marjorie Marie Kramer, 92, of rural Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola. Marjorie was born March 1, 1923, in Denoya, Oklahoma. She graduated from Yates Center High School and received her registered nurses training at the Fort Scott Mercy Hospital school of nursing. Marjorie worked at Allen County Hospital for 25 years, from 1953 until 1978. She worked 10 years as the Nursing Supervisor of Obstetrics and Surgery and 15 years as Director of Nursing Services, during which time she visited every hospital patient every day. In 1945 she married Lawrence A. Kramer and they made their home on a farm west of Iola. He preceded her in death in 1981. SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Steven Kramer of rural Iola and David Kramer and wife Judy of rural Iola 1 daughter: Dr. Suzanne Kramer Walter and husband Ulrich of Wuerzburg, Germany 2 grandsons: Michael Kramer and wife Kelli of rural Piqua and John Kramer and wife Bridget of rural Piqua 3 great grandchildren: Carly, Henry, and Ellie Jo Kramer VISITATION: 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, at St. John's Parish Hall in Iola. ROSARY AND MASS: The parish rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015, followed by the celebration of mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola. BURIAL: St. Martin's Cemetery in Piqua, Kansas. MEMORIALS: Hope Unlimited and they can be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola who is in charge of arrangements.
