Marjorie Lee Weast

Marjorie Lee Weast, age 89, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was the only child born to Alfred Joe and Thelma Lee (Thorp) Bauer. Lee was born on July 5, 1924, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Her family moved to the Moran area while Lee was still in school, she graduated from Moran High School. She then attended business school. Lee was a homemaker and she made her home in Moran for most of her life before moving to Fort Scott, Kansas in the late 1980's, where she lived until her passing. She enjoyed shopping and traveling. Lee especially enjoyed the times she could go with her son before he passed away. On her travels to California, she loved the opportunity to do some "star spotting" and collect an autograph. She was also an animal lover. Lee was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steven Weast in 1990. She is survived by her longtime friend Jerry Jackman of Fort Scott. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Moran Cemetery, Moran, Kansas. At the request of Lee, there will be no visitation.
