Marsha Smoot

Marsha Kay Smoot, 31, of Chanute, Kansas, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her home. Marsha was born August 19, 1978, in Iola, Kansas the daughter of Melvin D. and Melinda L. (Robb) Smoot. She graduated from Iola High School in 1997 and while in high school worked for Bonnie's Corner Cafe at Gas. She worked as a certified nurse's aid in area nursing homes until her health failed. She has made her home in Chanute for the past three years. Marsha was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. SURVIVORS: Her Parents: Melvin and Melinda Smoot of Iola, KS 1 Brother: Matthew Smoot & wife, Mandy of Humboldt, KS The loves of her life: 2 nieces, Kimber & Adrian Grandparents: Margaret Robb of Iola, KS, and Don and Mary LaCrone of Gas, KS Great Grandparents: Phil Butler of Iola, KS and Minnie Smoot of Salina, KS She was preceded in death by grandfathers, John Robb and Albert Smoot. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Pastor Matt Bycroft will officiate.
