Mary Alice Carey, age 94, passed away on April 30, 2023, at Guest Home Estates, Chanute, Kansas.
Mary was born on December 24, 1928 in Iola, Kansas, to George Myron and Nona (Freiermuth) Burnett.
Mary graduated from Iola High School where she was proud to be an I.O.L.A. girl. Mary was united in marriage to Cecil D. Carey on August 19, 1945 at the Assembly of God Church in Humboldt, Kansas. They were married for 54 years before his passing. This union was blessed with two sons, Frank D. and Larry J. Carey.
Mary and Cecil enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with their grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her parents; son, Frank D. Carey and her six siblings.
Mary is survived by her son Larry and his wife Alice of Branson, Missouri; 4 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 5, 2023, followed by funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
