Mary Ann Mann, 84 of Iola passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Iola. She was born December 27, 1932 in Iola to Floyd C. and Clara (Brown) Smith. She graduated from Iola High School. Mary Ann worked for 27 years for the Southeast Kansas Library System, and was instrumental in starting the Interlibrary Loan system. On September 23, 2000 she married the love of her life, Edward M. Mann. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2016. Her greatest joy in life was following her kids and grandkids in all of their activities. She never missed anything that her kids participated in. She was an avid sports fan and loved her KU Jayhawks. Throughout her life she was involved in Iola Music Club, Iola Community Theater, Vespers, ACCC Booster Club, and enjoyed playing in various Bridge groups. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her five children; Tony Leavitt and wife Barb of Iola, Terry Coomes and husband Rick of St. Paul, Tina Stanley and husband Jack of Lane, KS, Martin Taylor and wife Janalin of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Taylor and wife Terry of Iola; a sister Peggy Osborn and husband Tom and 2 nephews of Overland Park, KS, a stepson Tim Mann and wife Elaine and 2 children of Largo, FL; 12 grandchildren, Bobby Leavitt and Staci Hudlin, Aaron Coomes, Adam Coomes and Abby Born, Shawn Stanley, Scott Stanley, Kylie Taylor, Toni Taylor, Brett Taylor, Erika Taylor and Corey Taylor; 17 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 25 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday the 24th from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery following the service. Contributions in her memory are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church.
