Max Lee Lewis

January 20, 1960 — February 23, 2023

Max Lee Lewis, age 63, passed away peacefully with family at his side, on February 23, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Max was born January 20, 1960 to Max W and LaVonne (Dahlstrom) Lewis at Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas, the eldest of two sons.

Max was an avid race enthusiast. If it had a motor, he was on board! Max had helped racers along the way for over 50 years. His understanding of how machines worked was incredible, he could diagnose ways to make them faster no matter if it was two wheels or four. Max was able to encourage the riders or drivers do things out of their comfort zone to make them go faster! He will be greatly missed by the racing community for his humbleness and graciousness to all.

Max is preceded in death by his grandparents; aunts and uncles and some close friends.
Max is survived by his parents of the home; his brother Timothy (Kay) of Iola, Kansas; one niece Torrie (Levi) of Iola; two great nephews Ellis and Greer, one great niece Monroe; along with several cousins.

Family will greet friends on Thursday March 2, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at The Venue 1883 Hwy 54 Iola, Kansas. Funeral Services will be on Friday March 3, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Iola, Kansas, burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
