Maxine Rei

Maxine Ione Rei, 91, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola. Maxine was born June 19, 1920, at Mildred, Kansas, the daughter of Ross Charles and Emma Mae (Brown) Taylor. She was raised by her grandfather, J.R. Taylor, at Walkertown, Kansas near Ft. Scott. Maxine married George Junior Rei and they had one daughter before they divorced. She made her home in Ft. Scott for 15 years and Belton, Missouri for 15 years before moving to Iola in 1968. SURVIVORS: Her Daughter: Sharon Boan of Iola, KS 2 Grandchildren: Scott Boan of Iola, KS and Geri Lynn Porter of Belton, MO 4 Great Grandchildren: Cassie, Alicia, Philip and Maria 3 Siblings: Betty Gardella of Sutter Creek, CA, Andressa Clark of Tulsa, OK, and Don Fetterly of Lamar, MO She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jerry Allen Porter, and siblings, Marguerite Dennison, Joseph Taylor, Ross Taylor, Earl Taylor,and Robert Taylor. Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery in Iola at a later date. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel, Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
