Michael Eugene Roberts

Michael E. Roberts, age 45 of Richmond, Kansas, died on Monday, July 6, 2009, at Stormont-Vail in Topeka, Kansas. Michael was born on February 19, 1964, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Doug and Joyce (Ewert) Roberts. He grew up in the Richmond area, graduating from Central Heights High School in 1982. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Richmond, Kansas and Knights of Columbus in Scipio, Kansas. He enjoyed cars and doing mechanical work. Michael is survived by his parents, Doug and Joyce Roberts of Richmond, Kansas; his sister, Thresea Smith and husband Travis; his niece and nephew, Megan Smith and Tristan Smith, all of Garnett; his uncle, Bill Ewert and wife Carla of Parker, Kansas; and cousins Cassie Hasty and husband Mike of Parker, Kansas; Adam Ewert and wife Tanya of Garnett, Kansas; Libby Self and husband Brant of Parker, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio, Kansas. Interment will follow in the Garnett Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. The family will greet friends following a Rosary service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School and sent in care of the funeral home.
