Mildred (Millie) Brady Butler Dysart, age 93, of Garnett, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. She was born near Osawatomie, Kansas on June 5, 1923, the daughter of Stama L. and Sylvia (Townsend) Brady. After graduation from Paola High School, she moved to Wichita, KS to work at Boeing Aircraft company. During her tenure there, Millie was introduced to a tall, good looking young man with wavy, coal black hair. Six months after their blind date Mildred Brady and Frank Butler were married, on April 4, 1943. Eighteen years later, after their divorce, Millie raised her sons in Centerville and Wichita. While in Wichita she worked at Beech Aircraft company and later changed careers by becoming an LPN and working at Wesley Medical Center. Millie was promoted to med nurse on the Orthopedic floor. Several years later she renewed a friendship with Walter Dysart and the two were soon married on July 21, 1979. She continued her nursing career by accepting the position of director of nursing at Ark Haven Nursing home in Garnett. Upon retirement Millie and Walter traveled extensively. One of their favorite times was having their grandchildren regularly camp with them over the 4th of July at Linn Valley Lakes. In later years, they moved to Guest Home Estates. She continued to enjoy life playing bingo, eating sweets, and watching the Royals. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands Frank Butler in 2003 and Walter Dysart in 2009. She is survived by two sons, Dave and Beverly "Tiny" Butler, Greg and Kerri Butler; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 9:30 -10:30 AM, Tuesday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International and left in care of the funeral home.
