Milo M. Kesner, age 81, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at his home. He was born September 6, 1934 in LeRoy, Kansas, the son of Milo M. and Frances (Ringle) Kesner. He graduated from LeRoy High School entering the United States Navy shortly after. He went to work for an appliance store in Iola and then became a mail carrier for the post office in Chanute. He moved his family to LeRoy and worked at the CO-OP and from there to Joplin, Missouri at the boat plant. Milo worked at Eagle-Picher for many years retiring in 1997. Milo was a member of the American Legion Boerstler-May Post 170 in Chanute, Kansas. He enjoyed fishing, reading, drinking coffee and going to flea markets and finding 'bargains'. Milo was a very fun loving man and never met a stranger. He also was an avid Chiefs fan and was a big fan of The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. Milo married Beverly Ann Grady on January 30, 1955. This union was blessed with five children, Lari McCullough and husband Gene of Wichita, Kansas; Micki Deater and husband Rick of Carthage, Missouri; Kimberly Adams and husband Ernest of Chanute, Kansas; Traci Witteman and husband Doug of LeRoy, Kansas; and Kristan Broussard and husband Bob of Grapevine, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He married Donna Worthington on December 6, 1986 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. Milo is also survived by her children, Brenda Osler of Garnett, Kansas; Linnie Grosdidier and Connie of Garnett, Kansas; Brandie Gilkey and husband Doyle of Garnett, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, Justin Grosdidier, Hannah Osler, Misti Villegas, Britnee Gull, Macy Adams, Austin Adams; and 5 great grandchildren, Trent Miller, Haylee Miller, Gunner Grosdidier, John Jon Villegas and J. Linn Villegas. Milo was preceded in death by his parents; Beverly Kesner in December 1985; and one sister, Barbara Sue Dougherty. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. Cremation will follow. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milo Kesner Memorial Fund.
