Minnie Grizzle

Minnie M. Grizzle, 97, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at the Moran Manor. Minnie was born December 3, 1911, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, the daughter of James and Laura (Vail) Jones. At an early age she moved with her family to a farm northeast of LaHarpe in the Diamond community. On March 16, 1929, Minnie married George F. Grizzle. They lived briefly in Iola before making their home in LaHarpe. She cooked for Hart's Lunch, McAtee Nursing Home, and then Menegay's Restaurant. Her husband preceded her in death on May 18, 1988. SURVIVORS: 6 Sons: Virgil of Chanute, Kansas; Lionel of Sweet Home, Oregon; Glen of Lebanon, Oregon; Darrell of Wellington, Kansas; Alvin of LaHarpe, Kansas; George, Jr. of El Dorado, Kansas 1 Daughter: Elva Barnes of Cassoday, Kansas 1 Sister: Nora Coffin of Seattle, Washington 26 Grandchildren 47 Great Grandchildren 15 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a daughter, Velda Parks, and by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
