Myron Roy Harsch, age 69, of Garnett, Kansas passed away surrounded by love and God's grace at Kansas City Missouri Hospice House on December 3, 2011. Myron was born April 17, 1942 at Claremore, Oklahoma the identical twin of Martin Ray Harsch. He graduated from the Osage City High School, Osage City, Kansas with the Class of 1960. He joined the United States Army, the 733rd Army Reserve Unit, from 1963 to 1969. He married Joan Conrad at Burlington, Kansas on December 29, 1973. Two daughters were born to this union, Anna Marie and Amanda Ruby. Myron and Joan later divorced. Myron married Sue Caylor at Garnett, Kansas on September 24, 1993. Myron was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Osage City, Kansas. He owned and operated with his brother Martin, Harsch Brothers Ammonia. He sold seed and chemical to farmers at that time from his home outside of Waverly, Kansas. Myron was a life-long farmer, skilled in all fields of mechanical work that he passed on to many others. He especially enjoyed working on later model Mercedes Benz, tractors of all kinds and any sort of machinery. He was a well-known clockmaker and repairman, being a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He won numerous awards for his clock making skills, as well as International Clock Show Awards. Myron was known for sharing his watermelon crop with everyone in the community. He enjoyed his grand girls very much, teasing them and teaching them his knowledge. He never knew a stranger and would lend a helping hand always to anyone. He also had a contagious zest for life and a very positive attitude that inspired us all. Myron was preceded in death by his uncle, Max Harsch in July 1994. He is survived by his wife Sue Harsch, of the home; daughters, Anna Blanton and companion Clay Wight of Burlington, Kansas; Amanda Poeverlein and husband David of Scipio, Kansas; four granddaughters, Autumn Harsch and Haley Blanton of Burlington, Kansas; Sydnee and Mackinzee Poeverlein of Scipio, Kansas; twin brother, Martin Harsch and wife Kathy of Lyndon, Kansas; stepchildren include Lisa Caylor, Gary Caylor and Adam Caylor; step twin grandsons, Samuel Michael Caylor and Raymond Arnold Caylor; honorary granddaughters are Nickole Hermreck and Tessa Blythe. He also leaves behind his loyal dog "Skipper." Myron leaves many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. Other brothers in the area are Wayne Harsch, Doyle Harsch, and Pat Harsch. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Alpine, Cemetery, near Melvern Lake. Family will be present to greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House and left in care of the funeral home.
