Nadine McAdam, age 82, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at her home in Moran. Nadine was born on August 7, 1927 at Parsons, Kansas, a twin daughter of Roy and Rosie (Benson) Adams. She grew up in Parsons, attending Parsons Grade and High schools. On February 17, 1956, Nadine married Billy McAdam at Miami, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with one son, John D. The family made their home in Moran. Nadine was a homemaker. She also owned an interest in the Super 8 Motel in Iola. She was always interested in the happenings in the Moran community and USD #256. Nadine was a past member of the Moran American Legion Auxiliary. She loved watching old movies. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Jerry Hampe; sister, Velma Daniels; brother, Ed Shaw; daughter-in-law, Sue McAdam; and her mother and father-in-law, John and Mildred McAdam. Nadine is survived by her husband, Bill, and son, John, both of Moran; a nephew, Bobby Davis of Cherryvale, Kansas; a niece, Jamie Thornton, of Parsons, Kansas; numerous other nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Karolyn Holloway of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Beverly Franklin and husband, Jack of Iola, Kansas; and a brother-in-law, Tom McAdam and wife Bonnie of Moran, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Moran, Kansas. Interment will follow in the Moran Cemetery. She will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home in Moran. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund.
