Nathan P. McAdam, age 49, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
He was born on September 24, 1974, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the son of Brian K. McAdam and Connie (Wolfe) Meyer. In 1986 Nathan's family moved to Garnett, Kansas where he attended Longfellow Elementary School and the Irving Grade School before graduating from Anderson County High School with the class of 1993.
Nathan was united in marriage to Shannon Brockus on July 12, 2014, in Greeley, Kansas. Nathan gained a daughter, Peyton and they were also blessed with the birth of their son, Jaxson. They made their home in Richmond.
Nathan worked in various construction related jobs, including working with his brother, Jeremy. In his free time he could be found hunting, fishing or cooking, and it was most often something he had caught, killed or raised in his garden. He loved spending time with Jaxson and teaching him his ways of hunting, fishing and cooking. Nathan will be missed by those who knew him for his kind heart and his quick smile. His spirit will live on through small acts of kindness done for others in the way that he could.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Larry Wolfe, Tom McAdam, and Lee West; grandmother, Elizabeth Wolfe; and cousin, Jared Wolfe.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon McAdam, and son, Jaxson Connor McAdam, of the home; daughter, Peyton McKenna Brockus of Topeka, Kansas; parents, Brian McAdam of Moran, Kansas; Connie Meyer and husband Doug of Greeley, Kansas; grandmother, Loydene West of Garnett, Kansas; brother, Jeremy McAdam and wife Kim of Greeley, Kansas; sister, Jessica Ward and husband, Jeff; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Nathan's life will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Garnett, Kansas. Nathan's family will greet friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the funeral service at the church.
