Norma Jean Rickerson

Norma Jean Rickerson, age 83, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.   She was born October 14, 1934 in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of Otto E. and Eva J. (Boatman) Stewart.  Norma attended grade school in rural Allen County and graduated from Chanute High School.  Norma married James Lee Rickerson of rural Humboldt on October 3, 1952.  They in turn had seven children, four boys and three girls.  She worked at Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas for many years.   Norma was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Lee Jr., who died at birth and James Allen Rickerson. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James L. Rickerson of Iola, Kansas; her children, Brenda Lee Workman of Wichita, Kansas, Connie Christine Ingram of Montrose, Missouri, Russell Kim Rickerson of Rantoul, Kansas, Crystal Kathleen Rickerson of Wichita, Kansas; and Kendell Rickerson of Gardner, Kansas; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
