Norma J. Sams

Norma J. Sams, age 92, of LaHarpe, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Windsor Place in Iola. Norma was born to Charles and Gladys Woodruff. Norma was born on April 21, 1925 in Emporia, Kansas. Norma grew up in Emporia, Kansas, and graduated from Emporia High School. On August 5, 1946 she married Harold E. Sams at Emporia. They had two sons together, Harold L. Sams and Danny D. Sams. They lived in Emporia, Iola, and LaHarpe, Kansas. Norma was a homemaker, she took pride in her flowers and in her younger days, she had a large flower garden. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on February 22, 1993; a son Harold Sams; a grandson Branden Eugene Sams; a brother Robert J .Mayes; and her parents. She is survived by her son, Danny Sams; and three grandchildren, Heather, Shane and Quentin. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2017 at the LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas.
