Opal Lucille Holt, 85, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Sunday, February 21, 2010, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola. Opal was born April 4, 1924 at Paola, Kansas the daughter of Roley and Marguarite (Stalker) Parrish. She lived and attended school in Yates Center until the age of sixteen. She then moved to Missouri where she finished high school and graduated from the School of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. On April 27, 1946 Opal married Calvin L. "Billy" Holt in Wichita. They made their home in Wichita where she worked as a loan officer for a savings and loan company. They later lived in Oklahoma, Florida, Missouri and California before retiring and moving to LaHarpe in 1990. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2003. She was a member of the Church of Christ, LaHarpe Loyal Neighbors, and E.H.U. SURVIVORS: Brother: Willis Parrish of Iola, KS Sister-In-Laws: Nancy Holt of Collinsville, OK and Shirley Parrish of Moore, OK Nieces: Sharon Prather of Porterville, CA, Glenda Pargman of Iola, KS, Sandy Keating of Olathe, KS, Denise Parrish of Wichita, KS, Belinda Cuevas of Broken Arrow, OK, Cynthia Combs and Kelley Murray of Claremore, OK, and Eva Haraway of Ft. Smith, AR Nephews: Roley Taylor of Porterville, CA, Wayne Elwood Parrish of Moultrie, GA, Michael Parrish of Blanchard, OK, Eldon Roy Parrish of Moore, OK, Paul Parrish of Tonkawa, OK, and Robert Holt of Collinsville, OK She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Wayne, two sisters, Edna and Grace and by two nephews, Gary Taylor and Danny Parrish. FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Iola Church Of Christ.
