Ownal W. Miller, age 96, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Anderson County Long Term Care in Garnett. He was born on June 12, 1917, at Fairview, Missouri, the son of John and Bertha (Larcher) Miller. O.W. grew up in Anderson County. O.W. was united in marriage to Ellen Wagoner on August 2, 1941, at Westphalia, Kansas. After serving in the military for two years he returned to the Harris community where he began dairying and farming in 1947. His sons later joined him on the farm and they continued to dairy and farm until O.W. retired in 1988. Following his retirement O.W. continued to help his sons and grandsons with their farming. He also enjoyed taking his family fishing in area farm ponds. O.W. was preceded in death by his parents; son Wesley Miller on May 30, 1994; granddaughter Carol Leigh Miller; brother Homer Miller, and sister Ruby Miller Kunkel. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Miller, son Garland Miller and wife Helen and daughter-in-law Barbara Miller-Burns all of Garnett; six grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Bethel Church. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery at Westphalia, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett.
