Patricia "Patty" Ann (Lewis-Stanley) Franklin, age 83, passed away at Saint Luke's Hospital in Iola, Kansas, surrounded by family, on February 16, 2025.
Patty was born on March 30, 1941, in Colfax, Washington, to Robert and Wanda Lewis. Her early years were spent in Steptoe, Washington, where she attended grade school. She later graduated from Colfax High School with the class of 1959. Following high school, Patty worked as a stewardess for Southwest Airlines, where she met and later married Don Stanley.
After a few years, Patty and Don made their home in Elsmore, Kansas, where Don was from. They ran The Landmark in Moran, Kansas, before selling it in the 1990's. After being married for many years, Patty and Don later divorced. On June 9, 2007, Patty married Robert "Bob" Franklin in a wedding officiated by Lloyd Houk. During their 17 years of marriage, they enjoyed visiting Patty's family in Washington, and going on trips to casinos.
Patty was an avid gardener and landscape artist. She loved painting and fishing. She frequently visited the local salons, and enjoyed having her hair and nails done. Patty adored her dog, Abby, a Pomeranian.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Lewis; twin brother, Johnny Lewis; sister, Linda (Lewis) Marlow; brothers-in-law, Gerald Gilchrist and John O. Franklin; children, Brenda Ludlum, Brian Hemmert, and Leslie Stanley; and grandchild, Kayla Norman.
She is survived by husband, Bob; sister, Penny Gilchrist; step-sons, Jason (Lhyn) Franklin and Jerod Franklin; grandchildren, John Bruse, Josh (Amanda) Ludlum, Brooke (Karsyn) Norman, Shelby Norman (Adam), Ivan Franklin, and Byron Franklin; great-grandchildren, Summer and Audrey Ludlum, and Brighton Hacker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Patty is planned for Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Family will greet friends at a visitation the evening prior to the service, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in The Venue at the funeral home.
