Paul Kline

Paul Kline, age 84, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Paul Nicholas Kline was born on March 16, 1940, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Estell and Olive (Logan) Kline. He grew up in the Centerville community on a farm. He graduated from Parker High School with the class of 1958. Following high school he worked for the Forestry Service as a firefighter in Idaho, before entering the US Army. He returned to the Garnett area from the Army after being stationed in Alabama. On December 28, 1960, Paul was united in marriage to Shirley Gates. Paul and Shirley lived in Lawrence, Kansas and worked at the Hallmark card plant there for a couple of years before moving back to Garnett in 1964. Over the years Paul worked in various jobs including as a police officer for the City of Garnett and the Anderson County Sheriff's Department, as a welder at Tech Air and Taylor Forge in Garnett. He also worked in the maintenance department at the Anderson County Hospital and at Dodson Aviation in Rantoul, Kansas. In his free time, Paul enjoyed collecting guns and knives, hunting and fishing. He spent many hours searching for Arrowheads and preserving them. He also enjoyed woodworking and wood carving. Paul captured countless family memories as he seemed to always have a camera handy before everyone had one on their cell phone. He was a member of the Parker Masonic Lodge No.341.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Madonna Kline on May 11, 2014.

Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley Kline, of the home; two daughters, Robyn Nichols and husband, John, of Hume, Missouri, and Wendy Brandmeyer and Brett of Sula, Montana; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Paul is planned for 11:00 AM, Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation and left in care of the funeral home.
