Paul Swanson

Paul Swanson, age 67, of Kincaid, Kansas, died on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at St. Luke's South in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born on August 10, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Edwin and Anne Swanson. Paul served in the U.S. Army. He grew up in Farmington, Massachusetts then moving to California where he met Sandra, they later moved to Kincaid, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Sandra Worthy on January 14, 1985 in Hanover, Massachusetts. He loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Anne Swanson; and his sister, Phyllis Masidlover. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Swanson of the home; his children, Eric E. Swanson of El Dorado, Kansas; Shannon Figgins and husband Shane of Garnett, Kansas; Jennifer Gifford and husband James of Branson, Missouri; Paul Swanson, Jr. of Texas; Cheryl Lebowitz of Bayside, New York; and Linda Davenport of Boston, Massachusetts; his sister, Linda L. Swanson; seven grandchildren; Amanda Lebowitz; Paul Swanson III; Crystal Swanson; Jimmy Lee Swanson; Walker Paul Swanson; Michael Wayne Figgins; Zachariah James Gifford; and one on the way; and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service time on Tuesday morning. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
