Pauline Hill

Helen Pauline Hill, 76, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, September 20, 2010, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Pauline was born September 13, 1934 in rural Elsmore, Kansas the daughter of Lawrence P. and Geneva P. (Zornes) Anderson. She graduated from Iola High School. On July 4, 1952, Pauline married LeRoy V. Hill and they made their home in Iola. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1983. She worked a number of years at the Majestic Best Western Inn and also was a dedicated volunteer at the Iola Senior Citizens Center. On March 7, 1985 Pauline married Bert "Tom" Byers and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1988. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Iola. SURVIVORS: 5 Sons: Vernon Hill & wife, Jane of Gas, KS; Robert Hill & wife, Linda of Iola, KS; L.C. Hill & wife, Lois of Iola, KS; Rick Hill & wife, Rhonda of Iola, KS; and Jack Hill & wife, Connie of Iola, KS 2 Daughters: Helen Heiman & husband, Robert of Neosho Rapids, KS; and Becky VanEtten & husband, Kip of Iola, KS 3 Step-Sons: Mike, Richard and Kirby Byers all of Iola, KS 1 Brother: Larry Anderson & wife, Margaret of Iola, KS 1 Sister: Shirley Fursman of Iola, KS 18 Grandchildren & a number of great grandchildren An Aunt: Mary Cutshall of Iola, KS She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bobby Anderson, grandson Paul Ridge, stepson Scott Byers and stepdaughter Vicki Spillman. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at the First Church Of The Nazarene in Iola. The Rev. Duane Copsey will officiate.
