Perry Leroy McGhee, Jr., age 79, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on March 6, 1932 in Mont Ida, Kansas, the son of Perry and Mae (Marsengill) McGhee Sr. Perry went to school at Westphalia, Kansas, then was drafted into the military soon after. He married Patricia Ann Hermann on November 21, 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas; this union was blessed with five children. He was a Korean War Army veteran and retired from General Motors after 23 years as a proud UAW member. Perry enjoyed spending time with his large family camping, fishing, and boating. He loved to take his grandchildren, "on the rounds" with his four wheeler or golf cart whenever they would visit. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Mae McGhee Sr; and six brothers. He is survived by his loving wife Pat of 58 years, of the home; children, Chris Boehm and husband Pete of Warsaw, Missouri; J.D. McGhee and wife Lynn of Shawnee, Kansas; Glenda Windisch and husband Paul of Overland Park, Kansas; Lynn McGhee and wife Marcia of Lawrence, Kansas; Bryan McGhee and wife Lori of Olathe, Kansas; one sister, Lois Volenec of Phoenix, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the St. Teresa Catholic Church, Westphalia, with burial in the St. Teresa Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice House, St. Ann's Catholic Church or to St. Teresa Catholic Church.
