Petsy Reed

Petsy A. (Yocham) Reed, 70, of rural Piqua, Kansas, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. Petsy was born March 10, 1941, at Vian, Oklahoma, the daughter of Johnnie and Annie (Morris) Yocham. At the age of six, the family moved to the Allen County area. On September 12, 1959, Petsy married John A. Reed, Sr. at Riverside Park in Iola. They have made their home west of Piqua most of their married lives. Petsy enjoyed gardening, playing with her grandchildren and making music. She played the guitar and other string instuments and sang. She lived her life for Christ her Savior and was a member of Christ Crusaders located west of Piqua. SURVIVORS: Her husband of 51 years: John Reed, Sr. of the home 2 Children: Tracy Reed Splechter & husband, Ed of Yates Center, KS and John Reed, Jr. & his wife, Tammy of Piqua, KS 2 Sisters: Lorene Scheer of Iola, KS and Sue Scott from the Topeka, KS area 6 Grandchildren: Edward L. Splechter, Jeff E. Splechter, Michael W. Splechter, Maryann Howell, Amber Bonczkowski and James Reed 10 Great Grandchildren: Damian, Kylie, Mickey, Bryson, Jaron, Brandon, Liz, Abby, Kaleigh and Allyson She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Annie Yocham, four brothers and three sisters. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Yates Center Cemetery.
