R. Leon Morrow, 89, lifetime Iola, Kansas resident, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Allen County Hospital in Iola. Leon was born March 25, 1921, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Joseph Kenneth and Bernice Marie (Goodner) Morrow. On December 21, 1940, Leon married Inez E. Matney in Iola where they made their home. She preceded him in death July 8, 1982. Leon worked as a route salesman for Iola Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 27 years. He then worked 15 years for Singer's IGA and finally drove a bus for USD 257 for 14 years before he retired. On September 17, 1983, Leon married Forestine Powell Farling in Iola. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2006. On April 1, 1951, Leon was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1953 he was ordained into the ministry in which he remained until his death. SURVIVORS: One Son: Howard Morrow & wife, Glenna of Overland Park, KS 2 Daughters: Sheila Brown-Wintrode & husband, Richard of Grove, OK, and Judy Lind of Gridley, KS 1 Step-Daughter: LaJune Bodenhammer of Garnett, KS 5 Grandchildren: Cary Brown, Kimberly Morrow, Curt Lind, Casey Brown and Jeremy Lind 14 Great Grandchildren & 2 Great Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Wayne Morrow, two brothers, Marion "Bud" Zilliox and Milton Zilliox,and three sisters, Marguerite Todd, Louise Sloan and Wanda Adams. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Elder Gary Murphey will officiate.
