Randall Doyle Ellis

Randall Doyle "Randy" Ellis, age 59, Humboldt, Kansas, passed away at Arrowood Lane Assisted Living, Humboldt. Randy was born August 9, 1958, in Garnett, Kansas, to Bill Ellis and Lois Shepard Ellis. He attended Crest Schools, Colony, Kansas. Randy worked as a plumber in Lenexa, Kansas, retiring in November, 2017, due to illness. Randy and Diane Keele were married in 1981 in Colony, Kansas. They had one son, Ryan Ellis; they later divorced. Randy was an avid fisherman. Every Thursday night he would get together with friends and race remote-controlled cars or play backyard ping-pong golf. He was best-known telling jokes and making others laugh. He always took off on his birthday, and every ten years he had a huge birthday party for himself. Randy is survived by his son, Ryan Ellis, Iola; two grandsons, Dominic and Zaydrick Ellis, Iola; five brothers, Guy Ellis and wife, Linda, Ottawa, Jack Ellis and wife, Marylyn, Humboldt, Rex Ellis and wife, Loretta, Iola, Ronnie Ellis and wife, Debbie, LeRoy, Rick Ellis, Colony; one sister, Pat Baker and husband, Doyle, Olathe; two brothers-in-law, Mike Mann, St. Paul, Kansas, and David Sherwood, LeRoy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerry Ellis; two sisters, Shelia Mann and Lesa Sherwood. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 25, 2018, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Iola, Kansas. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Colony Cemetery, Colony, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Randy Ellis Memorial Fund to help with expenses. Memorials may be left at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.
