Ray D. Stocksen, age 81, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017, at his home. He was born on October 17, 1935, in Medford, Oklahoma. He was the third of five children born to Adolph J. Stocksen and Margaret Agnes (Kabureck) Stocksen. His family moved to Lane, Kansas when he was 9 years old. He attended school in Lane, graduating from high school there. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army Ray, where he was a Medic. Ray was united in marriage to Rosetta Edwards on October 11, 1958, at LaCygne, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home near Paola, before moving to Olathe, Kansas. Ray was an over the road truck driver for Yellow Freight and Trans Am. He drove for 55 years before retiring. In their retirement they returned to Garnett, Kansas to be near their family. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jeannie Ruiz and Ruby Hunsperger; and one brother, David Stocksen. He is survived by his wife, Rosetta of the home; daughter, Debbie Manspeaker and husband, Jeff of Garnett; two sons, Ramon "Bud" Stocksen Jr. and Vance Stocksen of Garnett; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Stocksen and wife, Tava of Emporia, Kansas.
