Raymond Edward Fitzpatrick, age 73, of Neosho Falls, passed away December 3, 2024, as the result of a vehicle accident in Sumner County. Ed was born March 12, 1951, in Iola, Kansas, to Joseph Theron Fitzpatrick and Pauline Mildred (Stovall) Fitzpatrick.
Ed graduated in 1969 from Yates Center High School. He then attended and graduated from Butler County Community College with a degree in welding. Later, he attended Pittsburg State University where he received a teaching certificate. Ed served his country in the Kansas National Guard.
Ed worked as a pipe fitter for 35 to 40 years and he taught welding at El Dorado, Kansas. Ed retired March 12, 2013. He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle. Ed loved hunting and fishing.
Ed enjoyed garage sales and auctions, and was known as an avid collector of antiques. Ed was known for his joking and kidding; he never met a stranger.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ken Fitzpatrick.
Ed is survived by his companion, Chris Sherwood; sister, Patsy Mapes; brother-in-law, Dan Mapes; sister-in-law, Rhonda Fitzpatrick; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Geneva Cemetery, Colony, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Geneva Cemetery, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
