Raymond George Pollman, 92, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute, Kansas. Raymond was born December 13, 1917, in Butler County near Leon, Kansas, the son of Charles and Susie (Singleton) Pollman. He grew up on a farm in Woodson County. On January 27, 1943, Raymond married Frances Marie Kinney at the St. Peter's Lutheran Parsonage in Humboldt. They made their home in Humboldt where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Monarch Cement Company for 39 years, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Pollman died November 20, 2009. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and playing cards. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt and the men's organization in the church. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Jerry Pollman and his wife, Theresa of Sand Springs, OK 1 Daughter: Margaret Charlene (Peggy) North and her husband, Charles of Darlington, WI 1 Brother: Hugh Pollman of Humboldt, KS 4 Grandchildren: Stephanie Lange & her husband, John, Deborah Weaver & her husband, Dan, Scott Pollman & his wife, Liesel and Neal Pollman & Lucy Choisnard 4 Great Grandchildren: Jeremy Weaver, Ryan Weaver, Kayla Lange and Tyler Lange A number of nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by an infant son and 4 brothers, Merl, Marvin, James and Carl Pollman. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The Rev. David Meier will officiate. INURNMENT: Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, following the service. MEMORIAL CHOICES: St. Peter's Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
