Rhoda Mae Raymond, age 90, of Garnett, Kansas, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Guest Home Estates in Garnett, Kansas. She was born on January 1, 1919, at the family home in rural Anderson County, Kansas, the daughter of John Merton Raymond and Iva May (Tyler) Raymond. Rhoda Mae lived most of her life in the Garnett area, with exception to the years that she lived in Lawrence with her sister. Rhoda Mae loved children and animals. She was an excellent cook with a large recipe collection. Rhoda Mae will be remembered by family and friends for her special talent of remembering dates and locations. Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Rose Lee Sneegas, a brother, Kenneth Raymond, and a niece Patricia Sneegas Kaminski. She is survived by cousins, Doris Adami of Los Angeles, California, Coralee Oliphant of Grandview, Missouri, Chester Turner of Berryton, Kansas, Martha Lee Berlin of Keizer, Oregon, Janice Turner of Scottsdale, Arizona, Gene Raymond and Ruth Lee Hastert, both of Garnett, Kansas, and Dale Raymond of Overland Park, Kansas, Norma Lee Hermreck of Osawatomie, Kansas, Gene Miles Tyler of Oakhill, Florida, and Geri Turner, of Scottsdale, Arizona, with whom Rhoda Mae shared a special bond with. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. Interment will follow in the Garnett Cemetery.
