Richard Henry Fox

Richard Henry Fox, age 77, of Iola, Kansas, passed away July 8, 2021, at his residence. Richard was born May 29, 1944, in San Bernardino, California, to Richard P. Fox and Enaze (Hurd) Fox.

Richard earned a master's degree in engineering from the School of Mines, Golden, Colorado, and spent his life as a professional engineer working in coal mines, gold mines, and uranium mines.

Richard and Geraldine Burton were married on June 12, 1970, in Tremonton, Utah.

Richard liked woodworking, home repair, sitting on his porch with Leyla, and family history. Richard especially enjoyed his family. Richard is remembered as a kind and generous person, who liked to help others. Richard never let his family walk alone.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and one great-grandchild, Josiah Fox.

Richard is survived by his son, Brian (Chastidy) Fox, Broomfield, Colorado; his daughter, Leslie Rowe, Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Alexia Fox, Broomfield, Colorado, Ceiria Fox, Broomfield, Colorado, Austin Dixon, Iola, Kansas, Casey Rowe, Iola, Kansas, Ricky Rowe, Iola, Kansas, Michael Fox, Broomfield, Colorado, Sinthia Fox, Broomfield, Colorado; great-grandson, Xylan Fox, Broomfield, Colorado; sister, Lauralee McDermeit, Iola, Kansas; nephew, Patrick McDermeit, Kansas City, Kansas; and his four legged companion, Leyla.

A memorial service honoring Richard's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
