Rick L. Weiland

Rick L. Weiland, age 44, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 as a result of a dirt bike accident. Rick was born to Curtis "C.L." and Linda (Fetty) Weiland. He was born on October 25, 1972 in Wichita Kansas. Rick grew up in the Iola and Chanute area. He graduated from Chanute High School in 1991. Rick was married to Mindy and to their union was born three children. Rick worked as a truck driver, and worked construction throughout his career. Rick was a loving father and will be missed for his supportive nature. Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Fetty and step-father Larry O. Powers; grandparents, Les and Esther Weiland. He is survived by two sons, James Upton of Pueblo, Colorado and Zach Weiland of Derby, Kansas; two daughters, Dakota Weiland of Derby, Kansas, and Samatha Weiland of Derby, Kansas; his father, Curtis "C.L." Weiland and wife, Sharon of Petrolia, Kansas; brother, Otto Powers and Staci Hermreck of Chanute, Kansas; sister Melissa Niemeyer and husband, Steve, of Texas.
