Robert Arnett

Robert D. Arnett, 82, of LaHarpe, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Robert was born August 17, 1931, on a farm east of Chanute, Kansas, the son of Cecil and Hazel (Smith) Arnett. He graduated from Chanute High School. On January 26, 1952, Robert married Lou Gericke and they made their home in Chanute until 1966 when they moved to Iola. In 1980 they moved to LaHarpe. He worked as a carpet layer for 40 years. Robert enjoyed making furniture in his woodworking shop and spending time in the garden. SURVIVORS: His Wife: Lou Arnett of the home 1 Daughter: Beverly Higinbotham & husband, Don of LaHarpe, KS 3 Grandchildren: Carey Dean, Chris Dean & Michael Weiland & wife, Sue He was preceded in death by a brother John Arnett, sister Mary Fagel and brothers-in-law Wayne & Robert Gericke. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, where the family will receive friends prior to the service.
