Robert Hester

Robert Earl Hester, 85, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas. Bob was born October 15, 1924 in Bowling Green, Kentucky the son of Virgil E. and Maude (Butler) Hester. He grew up in Kentucky and then served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Aberta Strong and they made their home in Louisville. They later divorced. On September 2, 1976, Bob married Judy Johnson and they lived in California, Arizona, and Kentucky before moving to Kansas. They have lived in LaHarpe since 2004. SURVIVORS: Wife: Judy Hester of the home 1 Son: Bobby Hester & wife, Jadrian of Marysville, KS 2 Daughters: Bonnie Hester of Kentucky and Melinda Enoch of Batesville, Arkansas 2 Sisters: Kathryn Hester and Rosalie Hester both of Louisville, KY 6 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by a brother, Forrest, a sister, Ada and a grandson, Aaron Hester. Bob Hester willed his body to the University of Kansas Department of Anatomy. Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
