Robert L. "Bob" Riley, 74, of Westphalia, Kansas, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas. Bob was born September 23, 1935 in Kimble, Missouri, the son of John Joseph and Alvie Gertrude (West) Riley. He grew up in Kimble and attended school in Licking. After his parents died he moved to St. Louis. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves for a number of years. On June 11, 1955, Bob married LaVerne Lane and they lived in the St. Louis area before moving to Westphalia, Kansas. He drove a truck for several years and worked 19 years for the City of Iola as the animal control officer before retiring. His favorite pastime was coon hunting. "Rick" Riley and Norma of Iola, Kansas, Joe Riley and Reece of Abilene, Kansas, Michael Riley of Westphalia, Kansas and Brian Riley and Sarah of Humboldt, Kansas 1 Daughter: Cindy Powell and Wayne of Iola, Kansas 1 Brother: George Riley of Jerseyville, Illinois 8 Grandchildren & 5 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa, 4 brothers, John, Michael, James and Joseph and 2 sisters, Corda Hall and Pat White. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, Kansas FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
