Robert O. Warren

Robert O. Warren, age 81, of Lone Elm, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas. Robert was born on September 13, 1927, at Garnett, Kansas, the son of D.O. and Ethel M. (Britton) Warren. He graduated from Garnett High School in 1945. He married Joan Kulp on November 25, 1954, at Lone Elm, Kansas. The couple lived in the Garnett area until moving to their farm at Lone Elm in 1958. Robert was a member of the Colony Community Church. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Iola Red Hots. He was also known as a good neighbor and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert is survived by his wife, Joan Warren, of the home; two sons, David Warren and wife Karen of Lone Elm, Kansas; Rodney Warren and Sandy Davidson of Chanute; one grandson, David A. Warren and wife Sue of Iola, Kansas; one great grandson, Robert David Warren; three brothers, Richard Warren of Winfield, Kansas; Tom Warren of Iola, Kansas; Jim Warren of Galva, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Colony, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Lone Elm Cemetery at Lone Elm, Kansas. Mr. Warren will lie in state after 1:00 PM Thursday with the family will present to greet friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral chapel in Colony. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lone Elm Community Building.
