Robert W. “Bob” White, age 92, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Iola, Kansas.
Bob was born in Springfield, Missouri on February 20, 1928 to Virgil and Ruth (Buck) White. Bob grew up in Fort Scott, Kansas. He graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1946. After high school, Bob joined the U.S. Navy and spent two years overseas. After his discharge, he attended Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas for one year. After attending Baker, he then started school in Pittsburg, Kansas at Kansas State Teachers College, where he later graduated. On July 29, 1949 Bob married Mary Frances Reagan in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fulton, Kansas. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Kris Rourk, and one son, Matthew White. Bob worked his entire career in sales.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tom White; and one sister, Shirley Forgey.
Bob is survived by wife, Mary White of Iola, Kansas; daughter, Kris Rourk of Iola, Kansas; son, Matthew White and wife, Bobby of Galveston, Texas; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
A private burial will take place. Memorials in honor of Bob are suggested to A.C.A.R.F. of LaHarpe, Kansas and may be left with the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be left online at
