Rocky Lee Alford, age 58, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on May 8, 2012 at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on January 18, 1954, in Sedan, Kansas, the son of Kenneth and Mary (Dye) Alford. Rocky completed his high school education after enlisting in the United States Army. Most of his time in the Army was spent in Panama. Rocky was a truck driver and worked in the oil fields until finding his passion at John Deere. He loved being in the fields around big machines and sharing stories with his loyal customers. Rocky enjoyed fishing, road trips with Debbie, and family time, especially loving his grandsons, Nathan and John. He was united in marriage to Debbie Pelletier on June 23, 2001 in Garnett, Kansas. Rocky was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Alford, of the home; son, Travis Lee Alford and girlfriend Gloria of Santa Barbara, California; daughters, Katrina Louise Carey and husband David of Olathe, Kansas; Jennifer Lynne Kratzberg and husband Garrett of Louisburg, Kansas; two grandsons, Nathan Hermreck and John Patrick Carey; his mother, Mary Alford of Eureka, Kansas; two sisters, Debbie Plew and husband Ken of Mulvane, Kansas; Rhonda Bartell and husband Steve of Mulvane, Kansas; two brothers, Joe Alford and wife Sylvia of Xanten, Germany; Jack Alford and wife Cyndi of Eureka, Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, May 14, 2012, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. The family will be present to greet friends on Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Fund.
