Rollin Herynk, age 88, of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Saint Luke's Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. John Rollin Herynk was born on August 24, 1920, in Lone Elm, Kansas, the son of Francis Michael and Christina (Pacha) Herynk. On December 28, 1942, he married Rachael Mary Grimes at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett, Kansas. This union was blessed with six children. Rollin was a lifetime farmer and stockman. He lived his entire life two miles south and one mile east of Lone Elm. He enjoyed family, farming the land, raising livestock, fishing and playing his piano. Rollin was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Parish Renewal Group, Kincaid Lions Club, and Kincaid Fair Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael Herynk on May 9, 2005; daughter Janie Whitcomb; grandson Stephen Whitcomb; three brothers, Francis Herynk, Joseph Herynk, and Gilbert Herynk; two sisters, Madeline Kersley and Elnora Smethers. Rollin is survived by two sons; Joe Herynk and wife Sue of Lawrence, Kansas; Jeff Herynk of Dillon, Colorado; three daughters, Ann Donaldson and husband Jack of Moran, Kansas; Susie Huffman and husband Dan of Lawrence, Kansas, Angie Larson and husband Mark of Colony, Kansas; twenty-six grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one brother, Tom Herynk and wife, Frances, of Kincaid, Kansas. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Mildred, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, March 11, 2009, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.
