Ron Daniels

Ronald E. "Ron" Daniels, 68, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at his home. Ron was born October 25, 1942, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, the only child of Chester E. and Fern V. (Anderson) Daniels. He grew up in the Savonburg and Elsmore areas. After high school, he received his bachelor's degree in business from Emporia State University and returned to the farm. On June 3, 1962, Ron married Vicki Lee Helman. They had four children and later divorced. He made his home at Moran from 1999 until 2010 when he moved to Iola due to his health problems. Ron married Frances Wilson on December 30, 2001, in Iola. He worked in marketing and sales from 1996 to 2008, including working at Decorator's Supply in Iola. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. SURVIVORS: His wife: Frances M. Daniels of the home 4 Children: Alisa Reynolds & husband, Darren of Independence, KS, Tracy Greer & husband, Joe of Yates Center, KS, Brett Daniels & wife, Mary of Savonburg, KS, and Adam Daniels of Pleasanton, KS 2 Step-Daughters: Crystal Hayden & husband, Chris of Lincoln, NE and Stephanie Moyer of Eudora, KS 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Vicki. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd Houk will officiate.
