Ronald M. "Ron" Beasley, Sr., 63, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Ron was born March 21, 1948, in San Francisco, California, the son of Perry Milton and Alice E. (Nigus) Beasley. He lived in California until the age of twelve when the family moved to Iola. He lived here several years before moving to Hiawatha, Kansas. On November 5, 1966, Ron married Dottie Vest. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his military service he went to plumbing school and moved back to Iola where he worked 27 years for D.& R. Plumbing before retiring. He was a member of the LaHarpe V.F.W., Iola Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite in Ft. Scott, Mirza Temple in Pittsburg, Hospital Dads, Hardly Able Fire Department and Mobile Nobles. SURVIVORS: His wife of 45 years: Dottie Beasley of the home 2 Sons: Ronald M. Beasley, Jr. and wife, Suzy of Humboldt, KS, and Milton Paul Beasley of LaHarpe, KS 1 Daughter: Patricia Mae Payne & husband, Craig of Iola, KS 1 Brother: William "Bill" Beasley & wife, Barbara of LaHarpe, KS 2 Half-Sisters: Rosie Stokes & husband, Allen of Iola, KS and Edna Green of Colorado Springs, CO 6 Grandchildren: Amanda Lewis, Derek Beasley, Audrey Payne, Shae Beasley, Zane Beasley and Carlie Jo Payne 1 Great Granddaughter: Adalie Boisvert He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol VanDam VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate. BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas MEMORIAL: Shriners Hospitals for Children Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
