Roy W. Leake

Roy W. Leake, Jr., 67, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Roy was born September 9, 1948, in Colony, Kansas, the son of Roy Wilson and Elsie Lavon (Morris) Leake. He grew up in Iola and Moran, graduating from Moran High School in 1968. He joined the U.S. Navy after graduation and served on the USS Kitty Hawk off the coast of Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he has made his home in Humboldt. Roy enjoyed playing baseball during his younger years. He liked to play games, shoot pool, watch baseball and wrestling on TV and tease his family. Survivors include 4 brothers; David Leake of Amargosa Valley, NV, Scott Leake & wife, Lorena of Iola, KS, Steven Leake & wife, Linda of Iola and Jack Leake of Iola; 4 sisters, Jane Gilbert & husband, Lee of Overland Park, KS, Mary Carter of Overland Park, KS, Barbara Moorehouse & husband, Roy of Humboldt, KS and Pat Kress of Piqua and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Iola.
