Ruby L. Johnson

Ruby L. Johnson, age 103, of Lenexa, Kansas, formerly of Savonburg, Kansas, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas. She was born June 12, 1904, at Savonburg, Kansas, the daughter of George O. and Olivia Ollie (Lagergren) Johnson. Ruby attended schools in the Savonburg area, and graduated from Bethany College at Lindsborg, Kansas. She worked for Pacific Life Insurance for nearly 45 years, both in Chicago, Illinois and Kansas City, with the majority of the years being in Chicago. After retirement she worked 8 to 10 years part time for a bank in Chicago. She moved back to Kansas City in 1985, and moved to Lakeview Village in 1987. Ruby enjoyed traveling, and visited the Asian and Scandinavian countries, as well as traveling throughout the United States. She also loved to read, and attending live stage shows. Family reunions were important to her, so she could see her relatives. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, George and Olivia Johnson, and one brother, Harold O. Johnson. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008, at the Friends Home Lutheran Church in Savonburg, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at the Swedish Cemetery in Savonburg, Kansas.
