Ruby I. Knapp

Ruby I. Knapp, age 88, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Moran Manor, Moran, Kansas. She was born May 4, 1924, in Moran, Kansas, the daughter of LaMoyne and Bessie (Smith) Knapp. She graduated from Moran High School. Ruby left Moran right out of high school to build airplanes at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. She then worked at National Bella Hess and Southerland Lumber in Kansas City, Missouri. Ruby retired and stayed in Kansas City, moving to Cricket's house in Bronson when her health failed, making her way to Moran Manor several months later. She loved to go shopping, especially for jewelry and clothes. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, LaMoyne and Bessie Knapp; two sisters, Dorothy Yost and Ruth Massey; one brother, Ray Knapp; three brothers-in-law, Fuzz Likely; Park Yost; and Lloyd Klimek. She is survived by three sisters, Marjorie Klimek of Moran, Kansas; Lorene (Cricket) Likely of Bronson, Kansas; Elda Faye Konrady of LaVeen, Arizona; brother-in-law, Vern Massey of LaCygne, Kansas; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Moran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Moran Manor.
